I have an assignment from a family member. He wants flashing LEDs when he hits the brakes on his motorcycle. He requested three to four quick flashes, then a constant on until the brake is released. He has presented me two sets of LEDs that were designed for an ambulance light system. Since we want to control precisely the amount of flashes, and the time between them, I’m going to use a microcontroller. Specifically, the ATTiny85. I only need one output, so the ATMega in the Arduino would be overkill. Also I’m looking to make this project very compact, and easily hideable within the compartments of his motorcycle.
I’ve begun writing up schematics, and so far I has only managed to short my IRF520 I was experimenting with. As soon as I get the money, I’ll order the parts and start building it. More details to come.
